What is an appliance “Protection Plan”, “Extended Warranty”, or “Extended Service Contract/Plan”? 

While they go by many names, each of these terms refers to the same type of added coverage for appliances. While most product manufacturers offer some type of standard warranty, it is usually fairly limited in both what it covers and how long the coverage is offered for. Safeware protection plans expand both coverage options and length for your equipment. 

When does Safeware’s appliance coverage begin? 

Safeware appliance protection begins when the appliance is delivered.  

With standard protection plans, for products with active OEM warranties, food spoilage and power surge coverage begin at the point of delivery. All other coverage (anything the OEM warranty covers) begins when the manufacturer warranty expires. 

What coverage is included in Safeware’s appliance extended warranty? 

Food spoilage credit (for refrigeration), power surge protection, all parts and labor, no deductibles or service fees, and no limit on the number of covered repairs.   

What is not covered under a Safeware Appliance policy? 

• No yearly maintenance 

• Pet damage  

• Accidental damage such as dings and scratches are not covered under appliance policies 

• Light bulbs 

• Invasion, war, or terrorist attacks 

• Acts of God 

• Fire, floods, and other natural disasters 

• Pest infestation 
  
  

Are there any limitations on the number of repairs or replacements covered? 

No there is no limit on the number of covered repairs.

How does the extended warranty coverage differ from the manufacturer's warranty for appliances? 

Safeware’s appliance warranty picks up where the manufacturer leaves off, in a way we are an extension of a manufacturer’s warranty. Everything the manufacturer covers, we extend that coverage while also adding additional benefits.  

Most manufacturers do not have added benefits such as power surge coverage or food spoilage credit. 

Additional Safeware appliance protection options 

Safeware covers appliances with or without manufacturer’s warranties.  

For appliances in new and unused condition that no longer have a manufacturer’s warranty, Safeware offers up to 4 years of coverage.  

 
What products can be covered by Safeware Protection Plans? 

• Commercial kitchen appliances that are under $30k 

• Refrigeration – Anything that cools/chills (Ex. fridge, freezer, dipping cabinet, drop in cold well, walk in fridge/cooler, ice cream machines, etc.) 

• Ice Machines – Any commercial ice machine 

• General Appliances – any appliance/equipment that is not refrigeration or an ice machine
